The original GoreTex® valve PMF100320 is one of the highest quality valves on the market and is used as standard on Future Fly Boards. It ensures reliable automatic pressure equalization in the board, thus protecting the structure from damage in the long term.

In recent years, there has been much debate about whether to stick with the classic metal valve or switch to an automatic valve. The key difference:
A metal valve does not “breathe.” This causes pressure fluctuations in the board when there are significant temperature differences (heat, cold, or air travel). The risk of delamination increases, especially with prolonged use over several years.

The automatic GoreTex® valve, on the other hand, allows for continuous pressure equalization. This means that the board remains better protected even under extreme conditions.

The only possible residual risk is a malfunction of the valve. As a simple safety measure, we therefore recommend checking the valve for damage every one to two years as a precaution. Apart from that, the valve does not require any maintenance and does not need to be replaced regularly.
